During your use of the Marketplace© simulation, you may find that you are not able to log in. This happens from time to time. We are happy to be able to help.
Several things can cause a log in error.
- You may have forgotten your password
- You could be using a different e-mail address
- You have purchased a license number, but you have not yet created your account
- You used one of our alternative sign-in options (such as through google, yahoo, etc)
- Your game has expired
- Your instructor has locked the game
The most common of these is that you have forgotten your password. This happens from time-to-time, but, fortunately, your password should be easy to recover. Simply click on the 'forgot your password?' link just below the 'password' field on our sign-in page. You will then be asked to enter your e-mail address. If you enter the correct e-mail address, you will receive an automated message from us within a few minutes. This e-mail will contain a single use link that you can use to set a new password for your account.
If you're like us, then you probably have multiple e-mail accounts. This can be necessary if you wish to keep work and play separate, but it can also be confusing at times. If you know your password, but are unable to log in, try one of your alternative e-mail accounts. It is possible that you used one of them during the sign-up process. If you have tried all of your e-mail accounts and cannot log in, call or e-mail our support team. Be sure to have your license number and/or game ID ready, as these pieces of information are often the quickest ways to find your account.
Purchasing a license number and signing up for a game are two completely different processes for Marketplace© users. This is because that, many times, a different person may purchase a license for another user. If you have purchased your license and are now attempting to sign in using the e-mail address you used during your license purchase, your attempt will fail. The e-mail address used in the license purchase process is only for record keeping, in the event that we need to find your license and issue a receipt or refund. Once you have your license number, you will need to create your account by going to https://game.ilsworld.com and clicking on the 'create a new account' button. Follow the steps on-screen and enter an e-mail address, password, your name, and other information. After clicking 'continue', you will be asked to enter the license number which you just purchased. Once you have completed this step, you can continue to log in using just your e-mail address and license number.
You may have signed up using one of our third party alternative sign-in options. If you used the 'with Google', 'with Yahoo', or other options when signing up for your game, you will need to use that same option when signing on in the future. Keep in mind that, when you do this, we are unable to reset your password. The system will use your Google or other login credentials instead and we are not able to reset these third party account passwords.
If 8 weeks or more have passed since you finished your simulation, you will find that you are no longer able to log in. Do not panic, however, your data is still available. It has simply been archived to make our servers run as efficiently as possible. If you still need access to this data, you will need to request an extension from your instructor. It is up to them to decide whether or not your access can be re-instated.
If fewer than 8 weeks have passed since you finished your simulation exercise and you are not able to log in (and you are sure that you are using the correct log-in credentials), then it is possible that your instructor has prematurely locked the game. This can be done intentionally to allow individual students to make up tests or evaluations, or so the instructor can collect information about your simulation performance before the start of a class. Consult with your instructor to ensure that their simulation locking was intentional. If it was not, they can contact us and we will assist them.
